One installer for npm, pnpm, Yarn and Bun

Easy CMS 0.22 picks your package manager from the lockfile or the --pm flag, prints the next steps in its own commands, and the docs remember the one you chose.

Until 0.22, create-easy-cms assumed npm. It installed packages with npm and told you to run npx easy-cms migrate, even inside a pnpm workspace or a Bun project. Now it works in the package manager you already use.

How it picks

  • --pm npm|pnpm|yarn|bun when you pass it.

  • Otherwise the project's packageManager field, then its lockfile.

  • Otherwise the one you ran it with, so bun create easy-cms uses Bun.

pnpm create easy-cms --db sqlite

Next steps in your own commands

The steps it prints at the end use that package manager: pnpm exec easy-cms migrate, yarn easy-cms migrate, bunx easy-cms migrate, bun run dev. When the package manager isn't installed, it says how to get it and prints the install commands instead of failing halfway.

Yarn 2 and later

Easy CMS doesn't support Plug'n'Play, so with Yarn 2 or later the scaffolder writes .yarnrc.yml with nodeLinker: node-modules for you.

The docs follow

Every command in the docs now has a tab for npm, pnpm, Yarn and Bun, translated the same way the scaffolder prints them. Pick one once and every page shows it.
